Music of Duke Ellington – Sunday, June 7 at 4:00 p.m.

This special event will highlight both music Ellington composed for his famous Sacred Concerts, as well as other Ellington favorites. The concert will benefit Imagine, a center for coping with loss, and will feature many of the top jazz players on the scene today, including many musicians who have played at Faith Lutheran Church in past years.   In the 15-piece band, led by Minister of Music John Girvin and trumpeter Max Morden, will also be alumni of both the Count Basie Orchestra and the current Ellington Touring Big Band.   Not to be missed, and suitable for all ages. We invite you to come out and support this event and bring your friends.

lose-making-sense-scriptureJoin Pastor Jane for this new Daytime Bible Study as we explore our faith while working through the book “Making Sense of Scripture” by Dr. David Lose.  We will meet four Wednesday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  Conversation includes questions surrounding the reading of Scripture as we work toward greater understanding of the Bible and its relevance to a life of faith.  New students are always welcome to join us!  Look for the sign-up sheet on the kiosk in the Narthex.
