Christian Education

We offer a variety of programs that meet weekdays, evenings, and regularly throughout the year on Sunday morning.

Bible studies, retreats, symposia, study trips, and intergenerational hands-on gatherings provide multi-faceted ways to learn together and explore our faith.

On Sunday mornings our education hour begins at 8:45 a.m. and meets from September to June with opportunities for ages 3 thru adult.

Sunday Church School

Beginning at age 3 this weekly program offers a chance for parents to offer their children a spiritual foundation for life. Our curriculum for younger grades includes stories of faith, hands on ministry projects, and music. Our curriculum for students in grades 6 thru 8 includes closer study of the Bible and Luther’s teachings, all of which enriches their regular Confirmation program.

Youth Forum

A program designed for our high school youth that includes fellowship and the practical study of faith. We involve our teens in the faith formation of our younger members as well.

Our weekly gatherings provide opportunities for fellowship, education, Bible studies, and topics of interest with special speakers.

Baptism

At Faith, baptism plays a central role in our life together and is a loving gift that joins us in community with our siblings in Christ throughout the world. Parents, sponsors, and the Family of Faith make promises that together nurture children in their life of faith.

First Communion

In 5th grade, students are invited to explore the story, meaning, and purpose of the sacrament of Holy Communion at a retreat during the Lenten season. In preparation, parents are encouraged to talk with their children about their baptism, to share stories of that special day using pictures and mementos, all of which are shared at the retreat. It is a special time as children become more aware of the deeper meaning of faith. First Communion is celebrated during worship on Holy Thursday.

Confirmation

Preparation for Confirmation is an intensive program of faith formation for youth in 6th thru 8th grade focused on setting a foundation of worship, learning, service, and growth in the life of Christ that God will build upon throughout life. Along with weekly Sunday School classes, there are multi-week course blocks that take place weekday evenings in the early fall and during Lent, as well as weekend intensives where all grades gather to learn more about what it means to live a life of faith.

Peer Leaders

Our high school peer leaders meet regularly for fellowship, ministry projects, provide support for our Sunday School, serve as mentors for confirmands, and team leaders for our Confirmation Retreat.

Youth and Family

Faith offers a variety of programs involving children, youth, families, and those that gather all the Family together. Throughout the year we gather in community in the spirit of fellowship for an Advent Craft Event, Family Game Night, ShroveTuesday Pancake Supper, Family Picnic, Menorah Lighting, and as part of smaller groups.
