Count Basie Benefit Concert for Imagine

RFM CBOvintage sliderBe sure not to miss this Sunday’s Music at Faith Benefit Concert, “Music of Count Basie”, with the all-star 524 South Band.   Proceeds from the event will go directly to Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss.  Imagine provides peer-led grief support services for children and families who have lost parents or loved ones.  Services are free of charge for all who attend. For more information, go to http://www.imaginenj.org

Members of the band include jazz musicians who have worked with Harry Connick, Jr., Count Basie, Duke Ellington and many of the top big bands currently on the scene.  Max Morden directs and will provide fascinating commentary on the music as the band plays selections from every decade of the bands’ existence…a rare occasion to hear this music as it was meant to be heard in our acoustically perfect sanctuary.

The concert will be at 4pm on June 11, 2017 in the sanctuary at Faith Lutheran Church, 524 South St., New Providence, NJ. A free-will donation will be collected at the concert to benefit Imagine.  Parking is available on-site and on local streets north of the church.  Pre-concert piano music provided by Leonieke Scheuble, winner of the 2017 NJ Governor’s Award in Arts Performance.
