Special Music – Sunday March 23, 2025

During regular worship at 10:00 a.m., the music of the Taizé community will be featured throughout the service. Taizé is a village in the hills of Burgundy, France. Since 1940 it has been the home of an ecumenical community whose prayer is the center of life. Today, it is a place of pilgrimage to visitors of all ages and backgrounds, who come to participate in international meetings of prayer and reflection. Songs from Taizé are themselves simple, sincere prayers with beautiful, uncomplicated melodies. All are welcome to join us for this special service. We practice an open Communion table.

Later in the afternoon, at 4:00 p.m., Shea Velloso, Minister of Music, and organist at Faith Lutheran Church, will present a free organ concert of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Alexandre Guilmant, Louis Vierne, William Walton, and others. This varied program will show off the wide variety of sound available on the church’s organ which, after extensive tonal renovation, is one of the most outstanding pipe organs in the area.
